Dr. Abravanel's Body Type System

In order to make the Body Type System easy to learn and use, Dr. Abravanel has divided the program into Modules. Some modules apply to all body types, while others have different versions for each body type. In order to fully benefit from the other modules, you must first determine your Body Type either by using Module 1, by using our online questionnaire (here), or by sending us your pictures and information (here) so that we may determine your Body Type for you.

MODULE 1: DISCOVER YOUR BODY TYPE

Once you've taken this first and most vital step and you know your Body Type, you're ready for...

MODULE 2: YOUR BODY TYPE NUTRITION PLAN

Do you want to lose weight? Gain weight? Balance your weight -- redistribute it away from your "problem" spots? Do you want to increase your energy, close your windows of vulnerability, maximize your health? It all starts with eating right for your Body Type! Then, you'll want to start on...

MODULE 3: CRAVINGS CONTROL

Each Body Type has its own particular vulnerabilities when it comes to cravings. This Module helps you with special Balance Lessons and Craving Analysis Worksheets. After the first time, you can repeat this Module as often as you wish while your body is reaching its best weight.

MODULE 4: TASTE BALANCING

Taste and its companion, smell, are vital links between your food and your body. Balancing the tastes in your diet is the natural alternative to counting calories, fat or fiber. When you really understand taste, your relationship with food changes completely.

MODULE 5: YOUR BODY TYPE EXERCISE PLAN

An exercise program that's right for you is as vital as the right eating plan in creating total well-being at your best weight. This Module enables you to develop a program that you'll love and do because it feels so good!

MODULE 6: COOKING FOR YOUR BODY TYPE

Shopping and cooking right for your Body Type take knowledge and practice. If you're responsible for creating meals for more than one Body Type, we'll help you with that, too.

MODULE 7: STRESS CONTROL

Understanding your Body Type can help you reduce the harmful effects of stress in your life. This Module looks at stress and its relationship to cravings. Ways you can help yourself reduce stress include a special program of Self-Acupressure Massage for your Body Type.

MODULE 8: THE LAST FIVE POUNDS

These are the hardest pounds to lose, and often they are toxic, cellulitic fat as well. This Module is a special weeklong diet that helps your body mobilize and burn this stubborn fat. Your Counselor will help you decide when you're ready for this Module.

MODULE 9: EXPANDING YOUR FOOD CHOICES FOR LIFE

When you've lost or gained all the weight you wanted to, and your problem spots are no longer problems, is the most critical time of all for your long-term success. This is when you translate a diet or eating plan into a completely natural, easy relationship to food that will allow you to enjoy eating. The principles of taste balancing that you learned in Module 4 now become the basis of health and weight maintenance for life. (Module 4 is a prerequisite for Module 9).




Body Type Counseling is the ideal way to explore the many ways you can strengthen your body, mind and spirit by understanding your own unique, personal needs. Your Body Type Counselor will be your personal guide through the Body Type Modules.
